And now for your Black History Moment:
Today we salute Lauren Anderson.
A record-breaking African American ballet dancer, she was born in Houston Texas. Lauren became the first Black principal dancer at the Houston Ballet in 1990. Since then she gained massive popularity through her lead performances in classical ballets. In January 2007, Anderson assumed her new role in Houston Ballet’s Education and Community Engagement department. Through her career Lauren has claimed a number of awards and titles and forever will be recognized as one of America’s most distinguished African-American ballerinas.
We would like to thank Cason Henry for this morning’s announcement.
