Volleyball Tournament

  Spartans! All grade levels are welcome to come and support our players in a fast rapid elimination volleyball and enjoy some time with your peers on Wednesday, the 23rd from 3:00 to 4:50 pm.. Students may purchase tickets for $2 on school cash to come watch and cheer on our players.

ASVAB Registration

  Today is the last day to turn in your ASVAB Registration Forms. ASVAB Registration Forms are due to Ms. Jimenez in Admin Silver or Ms. Munoz in Admin Red by 2:45pm

German American Heritage Month

  Guten Morgen Spartans, October is German American Heritage Month. English and German share a large amount of vocabulary due to their common Germanic origins. For example, the words "haben", "finden", "Haus", "Maus", and "Hand" are closely related to their English equivalents "have", "find", "house", "mouse", and "hand".

Bowling Team

  Hey Spartans, did you know our school has had a successful bowling team the last 8 years? The boys and girls team both advanced to the regional playoffs last year! There are tryouts today after school at Copperfield Bowling Alley. Tryouts cost 15 dollars. If you have any questions, see Ms. Doty in room 1369.

German American Heritage Month

  Guten Morgen Spartans, October is German American Heritage Month. Oktoberfest originated in 1810 as a celebration of the marriage of Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. The couple's wedding festivities included a large feast and horse races, which were so popular that they decided to repeat them annually. Today, Oktoberfest is celebrated all over the world, and an annual festival is held in Munich, Germany for two weeks.

Culture Club Meeting

  The Culture Club will hold it's next meeting on Monday, Oct 21 in Room 3010 at 2:50 pm. We will discuss the upcoming field trip to Dance of Asia. Also, it is not too late to join the Culture Club. Stop by and see Ms Gatling in room 3010 to pick up a parent permission slip.

Congrats Aden Ortega

  Last Friday the cross country team finished their 2024 regular season. Girls varsity placed highest in school history with a tie for 5th place. Daniel Poquioma finished in the top 15 at the JV level Boys varsity placed 4th over all. Junior Aden Ortega broke a Bridgeland sweep by placing 3rd over all and earning a trip to Dallas for the Regional meet October 21. Excellent job this year cross country!

Class of 2025 Volleyball tournament

  Students, it's almost time for our Senior Sponsored Rapid Elimination Volleyball tournament held on Wednesday the 23rd in the auxiliary gym from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm.. All grades welcome and students who come to watch may purchase their entrance ticket on School Cash for $2. Concessions will be available to purchase in cash. We need 1 more co-ed team of 6 players to participate. See Mrs. Fitzpatrick in room 2309 to sign up today after school!

Muslim Student Association

  The Muslim Student Association (MSA) will be holding a Jinn student social this Thursday, the 17th, in the LGI at 2:50 p.m.. Come and share your spooky stories.

CyLakes Student Council Meeting

  Good Morning Spartans. Student Council will have a meeting in the LGI today after school. Bring your signed permission slip if you haven't turned it in.

Boys Basketball Tryouts

  Boys basketball tryouts will be held next Wednesday, November 23 after school 3pm in competition gym. Must have a physical on file to participate. Football players will be able to tryout after the completion of the football season.

German American Heritage Month

  Guten Morgen Spartans, October is German American Heritage Month. We will be sharing facts about German for the rest of the month. 12% of Americans are of German descent, making German Americans the largest ancestral group in the nation. Students, if you can name a German town in Texas, let your teacher know, and if they are the first ones to submit the right answer, your class will receive a prize.

Mu Alpha Theta (MAO) Tutoring

  “Hello Spartans! Mu Alpha Theta is offering math tutoring on Wednesdays after school in the C-2 portable. Everyone is welcome to join us and ask questions about the SAT, various math subjects, and more! In addition to tutoring, snacks will be provided. They are limited in supply, so be there or be square!”

Prairie View A&M Campus Tour

  It is time for our annual PV campus visit. If you are a junior or senior and you are interested in attending Prairie View A&M University please come and see Mrs. Po in room 3004 or Coach Hicks by Friday, October 18th. Do not let this opportunity pass you up. Space will be limited and you will have to meet certain qualifications.
