German American Heritage Month

  Guten Morgen, Spartans! Happy German American Heritage Month. Did you know that tuition is free at German universities, even to international students? Germany is one of the most popular countries to study for international students because of the low cost and academic excellence.

  Hey there Spartan Business Leaders!! If you are on the F.B.L.A. competition team, there will be a meeting in Mrs. Merritt’s room today after school. This meeting is not mandatory, but if you have any specific questions regarding your competitive event or competition in general, please stop by and see Mrs. Merritt in room A4 after school today.

You may know that BMW and Aldi are German brands, but did you know that Adidas, Trader Joe’s, Puma, Bayer, Mercedes-Benz, T-Mobile, and Porsche also originated in Germany?

ASVAB Test on Nov 21st

  The ASVAB Career Exploration Program is designed to help students explore the world of work. A comprehensive career exploration and planning program that includes a multiple aptitude test battery, an interest inventory, and various career- planning tools. The ASVAB Test is being offered here at Cypress Lakes on November 21 at 7:30am in the auditorium. To register for the ASVAB Test stop by Admin Red or Admin Silver to pickup a registration form. All registration forms due back to Scarlet Jimenez located in Admin Silver or Maria Muñoz located in Admin Red. by November 18,2024

National Art Honor Society Bake Sale

  Attention Spartans! The National Art Honor Society will be hosting a bake sale TODAY October 23rd. Come out and support us right after school near the Commons! We will have plenty of snacks sold so make sure to come and tell all of your friends!

Science Olympiad Meeting

  Science Olympiad will be hosting its next meeting Thursday, October 24th in Room 1206 after school. We will be discussing events. See you there!

Choir Concert

  Come out and support CyLakes choir at their Fall dinner and fall concert this evening! The fall dinner will start at 6:00 PM with solos provided by CyLakes choir students. Dinner plates are available for purchase on SchoolCash Online for $10 a plate. The concert portion will begin at 7:00 PM in the Auditorium with free admission! Hope to see you there!

Speech & Debate Winners

  The Cy-Lakes Speech and Debate team competed at the Stratford HS TFA Tournament this past weekend. We are so proud to announce that Sydney Lane and Cole Shelton placed 1st in duet acting, earning them 6 points to state. They’re halfway to qualifying! Congratulations to all who competed.

ChemClub Meeting

  Good morning, Chemists! This week, Cypress Lakes Chemistry Club is excited to celebrate National Chemistry Week! On October 22nd, join us in Room 2020 after school for a special ChemClub meeting featuring hands-on activities and our Mole Day celebration. We’ll be doing tie-dye and other fun experiments to dive into the chemistry behind it. Then, on October 23rd, during 7th period in the auditorium we will have the chance to meet Scientist Ester Henriquez , from Baker Hughes and learn about the career in the field of chemistry. Don't miss out! It’s going to be a week of Picture Perfect Chemistry! See you there Chemists!"

Key Club Meeting

  Hey Key Clubbers! Don't forget about our general meeting this Thursday after school. We do have a change in location and will meet in the auditorium this week. The general meeting will immediately be followed by a club social where we will be making halloween ghost lollies and thank you cards. Hope to see you there!

Mu Alpha Theta (MAO) Tutoring

  “Hello Spartans! Mu Alpha Theta is offering math tutoring on Wednesdays after school in the C-2 portable. Everyone is welcome to join us and ask questions about the SAT, various math subjects, and more! In addition to tutoring, snacks will be provided. They are limited in supply, so be there or be square!”

CY-Lakes Choir Performance

  This past Saturday, 29 CyLakes choir students auditioned for the All-State Region Choir, and Region Honor Choir, with 18 students placing into a region choir, and 4 students advancing to the next round of the All-State Choir Process. The following students placed into the Region Honor Choir: Eric Ayala, Maylee Duron, Kale Kmiec, Paige McMillan, Sophia Pena, Ellison Taylor, Esther Villanueva, and Cheyenne Washington. For the Region Treble Choir: Luz Bonilla, Miranda Padilla, Jeniyah Pantlitz, and Rianna Shezbie. And for the Region Mixed Choir: Valeria Bautista (advancing to Pre-area), Christopher Noyola (advancing to Pre-area), Ayriana Gray (advancing to Pre-area), Elizabeth Sanchez (Advanding to Pre-area), Angel Torres-Vitela, and Jordan Vaillant-Gaitan. These students will represent CyLakes at the Region Choir Performance on Saturday November 2nd.
