Black History Moment: Etta Moten Barnett.
And now for your Black History moment:
Today we honor Etta Moten Barnett.
Born in Weimar, TX in 1901, Barnett was one of the first African American women to break the stereotypical portrayal of black women on stage and in movies. In the 50's & 60's Moten Barnett hosted a radio show called "I Remember When" which covered a wide range of cultural problems, and was considered by historians, the first "Black women's radio broadcast created for black listeners." For her many achievements The U.S Government appointed her to be a representative on cultural missions to ten African nations, with the help of her husband, Claude Albert Barnett.
We would like to thank William Green for this morning’s announcement.
And this concludes your Black History Moment. You better wake up and pay attention!
