Buenos días Spartans, for Hispanic Heritage Month today we are recognizing Dr. Humberto Fernandez-Morán, a Venezuelan scientist and inventor, who played a pivotal role in advancing electron microscopy technology as well as creating the first diamond shaped scalpel and later working with NASA in the Apollo Project. His groundbreaking work in the mid-20th century significantly improved our understanding of cellular structures and led to important developments in medical research. Dr. Fernandez-Morán's legacy continues to inspire scientists worldwide, reminding us of the profound impact of Hispanic scientists on the field of microscopy and beyond.
