  Good Morning Ladies of Sparta! Do you have what it takes to join the Cypress Lakes Lady Spartan Basketball Team? Our Lady Spartan Program has a legacy of winning here at The Lakes. Come show your skills OCTOBER 22nd and 23rd from 2:45pm-4:30p. You must have a physical on file to participate. Tryouts will be held in the main gym. If you have any questions please contact Coach Alewine or Coach Diggs.

  Boys Basketball tryouts will be held Oct. 29th after school in the main competition gym at 3:00pm. Must have a physical on file with all rank one paperwork complete. Football players will tryout at the conclusion of their season. If you have any questions, please speak with Coach Daniels or Coach Mckinney

There will be an interest meeting Today Thursday October 16th in 2411 you must be in there by 2:45 no exceptions. You must attend the meeting to try out!

  Rise and shine, Spartans! The wait is over- AAPI’s first member meeting is happening today after school in the LGI! Come learn about Diwali, the Festival of Lights, and join us for activities as we celebrate together. And yes, we didn’t forget about the food! Stick around after the meeting for our October social, which is also Diwali-themed! Remember to turn in your permission slips to Ms. Hastings’ room (room 2705) or bring them with you to the meeting to be accepted as a member. Your future favorite club is waiting, see you after school!

  Did you know there are over 40 colleges/universities/programs in the Houston area? This includes a range of public and private universities, community colleges, health programs, law schools and other graduate degree programs. This just means there is a wonder of opportunity right at your doorstep and all you have to do is look! All Juniors and Seniors get two college days each year to go visit different colleges during a regular school day to get a glimpse of what a regular college day looks like! Students must pick up the college day form from the attendance office and bring it back signed so that it counts as an excused absence.

  Juniors and Seniors! Are you still figuring out your future? Can’t decide on a college major? Don’t know what career to pursue? Then The ASVAB Test is for you. ASVAB offers a unique opportunity for all students to learn about themselves, whether they’re interested in pursuing post secondary education, work-based learning, or the Military. The ASVAB Test is being offered here, at Cypress Lakes on, Thursday, November 20th in the auditorium at 7:30am. Permissions slips are available in Admin Red and Admin Silver.

  Howdy, Spartans! For those interested in joining the National English Honor Society, please remember that applications are due Wednesday, October 1st. The application is completed via Google Form and includes personal questions, your transcript, a writing sample, and a teacher recommendation. Sponsors will reach out to teachers who were asked for a recommendation. Again, please ensure your full NEHS application is submitted no later than October 1st. Thank you!

  Students in any grade level planning to take SAT exam in the future can go to the room 1426 (AAS Office) to receive free SAT guides.
